We are Meghan & Matt. This is our story.
When we first met in 2018 we made a pact to get out of debt together and start living our dreams. We spent the next three years paying off a combined $99,000.
With our newfound financial freedom we started aggressively saving for the next phase of our life. In 2021, with no experience, we built out a 2019 Ram Promaster campervan, sold most of our stuff, ditched paying rent, and traveled North America for 1.5 years. We made many life-changing memories during this time, and seriously caught the travel bug. We decided to sell our beloved van and packed up two small carryon suitcases and a couple backpacks and went on a 5-month long trip abroad.
During our time overseas we realized that we loved the nomadic life and longed having a home to return to. But we weren’t ready to settle down. We wanted a new challenge. We thought it was a good idea to buy a beat up Vintage 1973 Airstream and transform it into our new tiny house on wheels.
What was supposed to be a 6-month restoration turned into a 14-month rebuild project that pushed us beyond the limits of what we previously thought we were capable of. Through teamwork, dedication, and a stubborn refusal to quit, we finished and are now the proud new owners of a brand new 2024 1973 23’ Airstream Safari.
We’re all about tiny living, sustainability, great foods, and living below our means to reach new goals. We’re passionate about the outdoors, and we have a YouTube channel where we document our unconventional lifestyle.
